The goal of this master's thesis is to design the heating system for the existing building of an elementary School. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first theoretical part, I discusses heat transfer methods, the influence of covers on heating elements, and the determination of radiant and convective power components. The second part solves the heating system's design in three heat source variants. The first option comprises six heat pumps. The second option includes a combination of direct evaporation for air handling units and heating using heat pumps. The third option involves the installation of gas condensing boilers. At the end of the second part, a technical report is written and drawing documentation is attached. The last third part is dedicated to the experimental measurement, in which the effect of the front plate on the performance of the heating element was ensured.
Temperature measurement in electric machines
Halfar, Ivo ; Huzlík, Rostislav (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis Temperature measurement in electric machines deals with beginning and exuding of the heat of electric motors and measuring of the temperature. The temperature is one of the most important values in diagnostic. High temperature could damage an isolation and it could tend to destroy of the whole machine. The temperature influences their magnetic properties on motors with permanent magnets. If you reach the Curie temperature it could come to its demagnetisation. Measuring of the temperature is important to verify allowable warming of motor or more precisely its spooling. The measuring of the temperature is needed for making motors with minimum of charges and its worth at the end. We could use two methods for measuring the temperature. It is contact and noncontact method. Warming and decomposition of the temperatures it is possible to appoint also with help of theoretic computations which are getting of the method of final elements. A lot of computer programs is using this method. Because of the existence of many sorts of electric motors, one of the viewpoints is the principle of working, another one is the construction. I concentrate on problems of asynchronous motors. In this bachelors thesis I have done theoretical calculation and contact and noncontact method of measuring of warming of the asynchronous motor.

Applying SolidWorks Flow Simulation for cooling system of the power converter
Matoušek, Patrik ; Vetiška, Vojtěch (referee) ; Dostál, Lukáš (advisor)
Thesis deals with the issue of cooling power converters. It describes the disposition of power converter M50, produced by ELCOM, a.s., and the distribution and origin of heat losses in the converter. The thesis then describes the process of creating a 3D CAD model of the converter in Solidworks and the procedure for heat simulation of the converter in default state and with cooling fan failures using Solidworks Flow Simulation. The thesis then evaluates the results of these simulations, and on their basis it suggests possible improvements in the design of converter‘s cooling system. These improvements are then evaluated in further simulations. The thesis then describes the verification of performed simulations by comparison with a temperature-rise test.
Optimalization of indirect resistance heating
Havránek, Miroslav ; Bok, Jaromír (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
The indirect resistance heating is one of many ways of heating a melting charge. It is used in metallurgy, mostly for melting of soft metals. Its principle is a direct resistance heating in correspondence with the Joule´s law. The principle of indirect resistance heating is in generating of thermal energy in heating element and heat transferring this heat into the melting charge. The theoretical part of this Bachelor Work (the first three chapters) is focused to thermal energy generation and possibility of thermal transmittance. The fourth chapter is devoted to possibility of utilizing of the indirect heating in praxis. The simplest general design and calculation of a pot-type furnace for aluminium melting is done in the fifth chapter. There is a part in this chapter, which deals with the effectivity of the designed pot-type furnace and possibility of heating optimalization in case when indirect heating system is used. The input and calculated parameters of our designed furnace are summed up in the conclusion. There is also comparison of the designed furnace and a furnace readily available on the Czech market and stress on importance of optimalization of heating at indirect heating systems.

Thermal calculation in design of resistance and induction devices
Krčál, Vít ; Foral, Štěpán (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on thermal calculation of electric heating device and related theory. Selected topics in electric heating technology are explained, followed by the calculation in design of a crucible furnace and its automation using a computer program. The theoretical part first deals with the heat transfer mechanisms and their mathematical description. Further on, the thesis describes how heat is created in resistance and induction heating devices and mentions applications of these types of heating. The main part of the thesis focuses on the thermal calculation of the resistance crucible furnace for aluminium melting. The calculation relates to a cylinder-shaped model of the furnace with determined structure and deals mostly with heat loss, electric power input, thermal efficiency and design of heating elements. The calculation is achieved only in general and it is subsequently automated in Microsoft Office Excel® application. The computer program, which is also a part of the thesis, allows user to change input parameters and see how it affects results of the calculation. In the last chapter, an example of calculation for specific numeric data is presented. The main goal of the thesis is to automate the calculation. That can save some time while calculating and designing a crucible furnace.
